What Happens When You Initially Contact Brightside?

Reaching out to a marketing company can feel like a big step

Especially when you are not sure what support you need, what it might cost or whether your budget is large enough.

At Brightside Marketing, we keep the process straightforward, practical and completely tailored to your business. There is no pressure to commit to a large package, and you do not need to have everything figured out before you contact us.

Here is what happens when you get in touch.

1. We start with a completely free discovery call

The first step is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation.

We will ask about your business, your customers, what you are currently doing for marketing and where you may need some support. We also want to understand what is taking up too much of your time, what has or has not worked in the past, and what you would like marketing to help you achieve.

You do not need to prepare a formal brief. The discovery call is simply a chance for us to get to know your business and for you to get to know us.

We can do this in person if you are in Auckland and prefer, or over a Zoom or Teams call. Whatever works best for you.

2. We put together a free plan and proposal

After the call, we will create a practical recommendation based on what your business actually needs.

This could include ongoing help with social media, website updates, blogs, email marketing, marketing planning or general marketing support. It could also be a one-off project, such as building a new website, refreshing an existing one or creating a practical social media strategy for your team to follow.

We will outline where we think your time and budget could be best spent, rather than giving you a standard package filled with services you may not need.

The plan and proposal are free, and there is no obligation to go ahead.

3. We talk honestly about your budget

Good marketing support does not have to begin with a huge monthly spend.

For ongoing support, we work with clients who spend around $200 per month, through to businesses with fuller monthly budgets closer to $1,000. The right level depends on what you need, how much you would like us to take care of and what is realistic for your business.

If your budget is limited, we can prioritise the work that is likely to make the most difference. You may start with one important task each month and build from there. If you need more hands-on support, we can create a broader plan covering several areas of your marketing.

Our aim is to find an approach that is useful, manageable and sustainable for you.

4. We agree on the priorities

Before any work begins, we will make sure we are clear on:

  • What Brightside will take care of

  • What we need from you

  • Your main priorities

  • The agreed budget

  • How we will communicate and approve work

This keeps everything clear and helps us focus on the work that matters most.

5. We get to work

Once you are happy with the plan, we begin putting it into action.

Brightside is a small, hands-on team, so you will work directly with the people doing the work. We are here to help you get marketing tasks off your list, keep things moving and bring consistency to the areas that are often pushed aside when business gets busy.

Your support can also change as your business changes. We can review priorities, adjust the amount of ongoing work or help with a one-off project when needed. You can work with us regularly, bring us in for a specific project, or start with one and move to the other later.

You do not need a big budget or a perfect plan to start

Sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing where to begin. That is exactly what the free discovery call is for.

If you would like practical ongoing marketing support, a new website, a clear social media strategy or help with another one-off project, let’s have a chat. We will learn about your business, talk through your budget and give you an honest recommendation on what could work.
